Our Kindergarteners had an incredible time attending the Deeply Rooted Dance Theater performance at the historic Auditorium Theatre, downtown Chicago last Friday 💃🏻 The Auditorium Theatre was built in 1889 and it is the second largest theater in Chicago, with 4,000 seats. The matinee performance was a packed house full of students and schools from all over the region. Our students faces were in awe as they entered the beautiful theater 🥰 Special thank you to Ms. Arthur- our Kindergarten Dance Teacher- who planned this incredible opportunity for our Baby Flames 🔥 #WeAreSteelCityStrong

Attendance is one of the most critical factors for your child's success.🎓Students' attendance allows them to build & maintain strong relationships, continue their stability of routines and ensure they are getting all of the academic knowledge and experiences of school.
What do you need to know to support these efforts?
*School officially starts at 7:50 am. Arrival is from 7:50 am - 8:00 am. A student is officially late if they arrive after 8:00 am.
*If a student is absent, it will be marked unexcused unless we get acceptable documentation.
*Acceptable documentation includes a doctors/dentist note, court notice and/or obituary. Hand written notes are not accepted as documentation. *Documentation can be submitted to the front office between 8:00 am - 2:30 pm OR emailed to attendance@steelcityacademy.org. *Quarter 1 documentation must be submitted by Tuesday, November 21st.
*As a reminder and in compliance with state law, students will be referred for truancy after 10 unexcused absences.
*If a student is identified as chronically absent, they are also eligible for retention.
Thank you for all of your hard work and partnership to ensure your child is here every day! #AttendTodayAchieveTomorrow #ShowingUpMattersForREAL
