Good morning! After careful consideration, we have decided to delay the start time for the graduation ceremony. The new start time is 1:00 PM. Doors open at 12:30 PM. Please plan to arrive early as we will close the gates to guests at 1:00 PM sharp. Feel free to bring a towel as seats may be wet from the rain and bring an umbrella just in case. Students should still plan to arrive at the stadium at 10:00 AM.

We are SO thrilled to culminate our year of making math a school-wide priority with our 1st Annual Steel City MATHlete Bowl!

This joyful event is an opportunity for our remarkable students to demonstrate their knowledge, confidence, teamwork, and critical thinking skills as they work collaboratively to solve math challenges and show what they know!

Interested in representing your squad? Each squad will nominate:

⭐ 1 girl representative

The Steel City MATHlete Bowl will take place on Wednesday, May 27th for grades K-12!

🌲 Dunes Discovery Camps (Ages 9–13)
Students spend their days hiking, making crafts, playing games outdoors, exploring the beach, making s’mores by the campfire, and building lifelong memories and friendships! 🥾🔥🎨
💰 Scholarship opportunities can reduce camp costs to just $50!

🏖️ Dunes Day Camp at the Paul H. Douglas Center (Ages 9–13)
📅 July 7–9 | ⏰ 9 AM–2 PM
A great option for students not quite ready for overnight camp! Campers will enjoy outdoor exploration, crafts, games, daily hikes, and even a beach party at West Beach! 🌊☀️
💰 Cost can be reduced to just $20 with scholarship support!

Our students have been selected for FREE enrollment in the STARBASE STEM Summer Camp at the National Guard Armor and we get FIRST access to register 👏🏽

This hands-on, high-energy camp is all about science, technology, engineering, and math coming to life in the most engaging way. From experiments to real-world problem solving, this is an experience our students will never forget 🧠✨

At Steel City Academy, we are building a powerful STEM learning environment on purpose and with intention 🔬✨ From launching new courses to creating hands-on STEM experiences and investing in meaningful professional development, this work is a true priority for our school community. This past week, Steel City Academy proudly welcomed five new members into our National Honor Society chapter! 🎉✨ Join us in celebrating David, Cyriah, Amari, Khloe, and Ashunte — scholars who truly represent what it means to lead with excellence. Through teacher recommendations, a rigorous application process, and transcripts that reflect strong academic achievement, these students have demonstrated a consistent commitment to scholarship, leadership, character, and service. We are so proud to welcome them into this prestigious community of leaders 🔥 We are also excited to continue growing this legacy of excellence as we look ahead to launching our National Junior Honor Society chapter next year — creating even more opportunities for our younger scholars to lead and shine 🌟 A heartfelt thank you to our NHS Advisors, Mrs. Haddad and Ms. Fairley, for their leadership and for creating such a meaningful induction experience for our students. The celebration comes after the hard work, and yesterday our 2nd graders did exactly that! Students who had perfect attendance and successfully completed IREAD had the opportunity to spend Friday at Chuck E. Cheese playing with friends and experiencing so much JOY!

The love of science is alive and growing in our elementary classrooms! 🔬💚

Our 2nd graders have a very special new friend… meet Emma the Turtle! 🐢✨ What an incredible opportunity for our students to learn about life in a real, hands-on way. From exploring the differences between reptiles and amphibians, to understanding energy sources, to building responsibility through caring for a living animal… this is learning that sticks.
