October 20-25 is National School Bus Safety Week 💛 and our amazing transportation vendor, Incadescent Transportation Solutions 🚌, challenged our bus riders to create a piece of art 🎨 depicting what school bus safety means to them. 💭 We saw so many incredible submissions 🤩 and representation of what it means to be safe on the school bus. We are proud to celebrate our Steel City juniors who showed up and achieved big on the College Day English SAT last year! 💙🔥
📚 #1 in Gary in English — 54.2% of our juniors reached college-ready proficiency, putting us within 1% of the state average!
📈 That’s 28.5% higher than the next highest-performing Junior class in Gary.
🌟 Our students are also outperforming their regional peers in in East Chicago, Hammond, Hobart, Merrillville, Portage, and more on this College Board Assessment.
For the past two years, we’ve been laser-focused on literacy — and now we have the results to show that when we put our mind and focus to something, we can and will drastically change student outcomes! 💙🔥 A huge shout-out to our incredible teachers, parents staff, instructional leadership team, and Literacy Cadre team for making this all possible.
We also know we still have room to grow in ensuring even more of our students are college-ready in English. We are thrilled to be pivoting our big focus to math for the 2025–2026 school year — and we are confident the same intentionality and effort will yield incredible results. 💙🔥
