We wanted to provide an important update following todayās severe weather. Due to the continued power outage at our building, along with conditions and ongoing cleanup throughout our neighborhood and the City of Gary, Steel City Academy will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12th. There will be no school for students or staff.
Pending the successful restoration of power, we plan to reopen on Thursday, August 13th, when we will welcome our 7th-12th grade students for their first day of school and celebrate our first full day together as a K-12 school! š„
We will continue to provide updates throughout the day tomorrow and will communicate any changes as soon as possible.

Good morning! After careful consideration, we have decided to delay the start time for the graduation ceremony. The new start time is 1:00 PM. Doors open at 12:30 PM. Please plan to arrive early as we will close the gates to guests at 1:00 PM sharp. Feel free to bring a towel as seats may be wet from the rain and bring an umbrella just in case. Students should still plan to arrive at the stadium at 10:00 AM.

In addition to proudly celebrating our seniorsā postsecondary pathway decisions across college, military enlistment, and trade school, we also had the opportunity to recognize several incredible scholarship recipients and special Steel City award honorees šš½š
