As a part of our educational program, Steel City believes in the power and importance of field trips to provide access to new opportunities and experiences š Yesterday our High School students had the opportunity to visit Top Golf to learn how to golf and have a whole lot of fun in the process šš½āāļøšš½āāļø Golf is a lifelong sport that not only helps you stay fit but provides you access to networking opportunities as they progress in their careers! š„ We are so excited to see our students continue to improve in their golf game! Our students had the opportunity to fast-track their future on Instant Decision Day with Indiana University Northwest, Ivy Tech Community College and Purdue University Northwest Admissions ššš„ Instant Decision Day offered students immediate decisions on their admission applications as well as open door access to college and university representatives. Our Kindergarten through 3rd grade classes continue to dive deep into our Early Literacy focus! š Recently our 2nd graders participated in their class wide Spelling Bee- an opportunity to show their knowledge of how words are spelled which will ultimately support their ability to read! š Congratulations to all participants and winners! #ReadBabyRead





Last week our 4th graders enjoyed an incredible visit to the Challenger Learning Center to participate in the Engineering EDVentures course š Our students had the opportunity to engage in the Engineering Lego Lab to collaboratively build remarkable contraptions š©š½āš¬š š§š¾āš¬ So amazing to see their engineering and creative brains come to love#FutureEngineers










Last week our Steel City 3rd Graders started their big IREAD assessment! Coach Kelly has done the most incredible job pouring into them with rigorous literacy instruction, love, accountability and discipline. On test day, students enjoyed a team breakfast, great music and special words of encouragement from their parents in the form of good luck letters! Thank you to all the parents who provided the beautiful notes and encouraged their students each and every day.šš#ItTakesAVillage
Yesterday our 3rd graders celebrated the end of IRead testing with a field trip to the Challenger Learning Center to participate in the Engineering EDVentures course š During this hands-on STEM lab, our students learned how real world engineers develop their creations, and how they use the scientific process to test them. They worked in partners and cooperative groups to complete engineering challenges and experiments! What an awesome experience for our kidsš©š½āš¬š š§š¾āš¬ #FutureEngineers
