We're on a roll with our student #SafetyHumanConnectionLearning experiences! Students 6th-8th visited VicTory 4 Kids Youth Healthcare Expo š¦ š„¼š©» this week where they received tons of information pertaining to health and careers, and even received some take-home goodies!

Yesterday, our youngest students had the opportunity to visit a dentist for a dental screening and cleaning right here at school š¦·šŖ„. š Fair Oaks Farm provided an amazing experience and was able to spread so much #joy to our K-2 students with a facilitated tour around their farm š Students were able to learn the different life stages of animals as well as see them live in action. We thank the parents, student chaperones, and staff for coming out with our K-2 students. Lastly, a HUGE shout-out of gratitude to our CCR advisor, Ms. Matheny for making it happen! #SafetyHumanConnectionLearning š·šš









We're back with another college tour! š„ Much gratitude and a huge shout out to our College & Career team for giving our Juniors the experience of visiting a range of colleges and universities this semester. This week is Purdue University and Indiana University Northwest College, where students were able to learn more about majors that are offered and visit a few of the many different colleges within. #SafetyHumanConnectionLearning šš£








As a reminder, students are able to enter the building between 7:50AM and 8:00AM. School begins at 8:00AM and school is dismissed at 3:00PM.šStudents who arrive to school after 8:00AM are considered tardy. At Steel City, every month we intentionally select a core value and aligned action to prioritize for our staff and create experiences to allow spaces to embody the value š„ As we inch closer to Spring Break and embark upon the craziness of testing season, we selected the JOY core value for March: specifically finding joy in the work we do and who we do it with!

Our incredible 5th & 6th Grade Humanities teacher- Ms. Harrell- created a stunning "Tournament of Books" Bulletin Board where students vote each round on their favorite book š What started as the Elite 8 quickly went down to the Final Four and now students are voting on the Book Champion Today!šWhat a creative and interactive way to bring our Literacy Strategic Priority to LIFE!š„ #WeAreSteelCityStrong
