Yesterday was a magical final day of Black History Month at Steel City Academy 
After weeks of studying our middle school students competed in our first annual, competitive Black History Battle of the Brains! 
Congratulations to our remarkable teams (they created their own team names!): The Black Panthers, Black Gems, Roses in the Park, The Diamonds, Freedom, Black Girl Magic, King Junior and Trailblazers.
A special shout out to our team sponsors- Ms. Harrell, Mr. Milton, Ms. Riddle and Ms. Kirley- who volunteered their time to support and encourage their teams!
And HUGE gratitude to Mrs. Williams for her tireless planning and stunning execution of this festive, joyous event! Our spectator students couldn't help but join in on the fun and lean into the TEAM core value with homemade signs and cheering!
